Pride & Prejudice & Zombies – Good News, Bad News

Good News: There are lots of powerful, independent women in the film which authentically builds on the feminist ethos of Jane Austen.
Bad News: We get quite a few shots of them pulling up their skirts to sheath blades in their garters and Lily James’ brassiere seems to be struggling to adequately contain her.
………………………………..
Good News: The way in which they pay reverence to the original source material.
Bad News: The way in which they seem to be clumsily inserting the word zombie into famous lines from the book like the Smurfs randomly insert the work smurf or smurfing into their sentences.
………………………………..
Good News: Matt Smith as Mr. Collins (Parson Collins)
Bad News: Jack Huston as Mr. Wickham. He looks like a Ken doll.
………………………………..
Good News: There are lots of original ideas and genuinely creepy images, like using flies to expose the undead and the appearance of the zombie baby.
Bad News: The way the whole zombie element of the story line seems to get totally abandoned at the end.
………………………………..
Good News: The story actually holds together.
Bad News: The ponderous exposition.
………………………………..
Good News: It is quite fun.
Bad News: It is quite stupid.
